01

Build the pool.

Choose real products and variants from Shopify. Set how many of each you want to sell. Together, they become one blind box.

Create real rarity.

Put fewer units of sought-after products into the pool. Their rarity comes from the inventory you commit—not an arbitrary label or fake odds.

03

Sell the mystery.

Customers buy a box knowing every possible product and its current odds. The rare items create the chase; every box still contains a real product from your store.

Turn opening into a ritual.

Unboxing built entire creator empires for a reason: people crave the moment of finding out. Chancey gives every pull that moment—staged, cinematic, tiered by rarity—so opening your boxes becomes a habit customers look forward to, not a package they receive.

Turn one pull into the next.

After the reveal, built-in rerolls let customers swap the item they pulled for credit toward another box—a repeat-purchase loop only gacha commerce can create.

Common questions

Gacha commerce,
explained.

What is gacha commerce?

Gacha commerce is selling a fairly-priced chance at real products instead of a fixed item — the model behind gachapon machines, blind boxes, and pack ripping. Customers buy a box knowing every product in the pool and the live odds, and the reveal itself becomes part of the experience. Chancey brings this model to any Shopify store.

How do blind boxes work on Shopify with Chancey?

You pick real products and variants from your Shopify catalog, commit how many units of each go into the pool, and Chancey turns them into one purchasable blind box. Customers buy the box, see the odds up front, and get a cinematic reveal of the product they pulled. Orders, inventory, and fulfillment stay in Shopify.

Are the odds real?

Yes — odds come from the inventory you commit, not from labels. If four units of a rare item sit in a 70-unit pool, its odds are exactly 4 in 70, shown live and updated as boxes sell. Draws are provably fair, so buyers can verify their pull was not manipulated.

What's the difference between a blind box, a mystery box, and gachapon?

They are the same idea in different packaging. Gachapon is the Japanese capsule-toy machine format, blind boxes are the sealed retail version popularized by Pop Mart and Labubu, and mystery boxes are the broader ecommerce term. Chancey supports the shared mechanic — a known pool of real products, honest odds, and a reveal — for any of these formats. Inside Chancey the two build formats are named for the most common case: a blind box holds one item, a mystery box holds several.

Can one box contain more than one item?

Yes — that is Chancey's mystery box format. You give the box a slot for every item inside it, and each slot is its own inventory-backed prize pool with its own published odds. That lets you guarantee a rare in one slot while the rest stay a surprise. Buyers see the odds for every slot before they buy, and the reveal opens each item in the box one at a time.

Which stores does gacha commerce fit best?

Stores whose catalogs carry heat: trading cards, streetwear, collectibles, designer toys, beauty, and any brand with sought-after products alongside everyday ones. Rarity comes from your own inventory, so you need products people want to chase — the mechanic amplifies demand rather than creating it.
